GOD'S Calendar

GOD'S Calendar

Shalom,

There are three main calendars to be aware of:

Two Jewish calendars: the Biblical (Religious) calendar and the Civil calendar

And one non-Jewish, the widely used Gregorian calendar.

At ALIGN DAILY, by revelation, we choose to align with the Biblical (Religious) calendar, the one commanded by God in Exodus 12:2.

“You are to begin your calendar with this month; it will be the first month of the year for you.”Exodus 12:2 CJB

This calendar begins in the spring with the first month of Nisan, and includes 12 months, from Nisan to Adar. In leap years, a 13th month is added, resulting in Adar I and Adar II.

In the Bible, months are often referred to by their numerical order,“the first month,” “the second month,” and so on. The first month is also called Aviv (or Abib) in early Scripture references. Over time, the months came to be known by names such as Nisan, Iyar, Sivan, and others.

At ALIGN DAILY, we recognize the historical and biblical development of these month names. For clarity and alignment with Scripture, we present both the numerical designation and the later names in our publications, placing emphasis on the biblical numerical pattern, unless the Holy Spirit leads otherwise.

We are now in the fourth month of Tammuz 5785. This is the calendar we follow. We also publish the Gregorian calendar alongside for more understanding of what day it is.

The Jewish Civil calendar starts the 1st month in Tishrei and that’s when the year changes to 5786.
